Then its photos taken TODAY!! Freshly taken at the statue of liberty and ground zero!!!!!
We went according to our planned agenda today!! Its so fulfilling!! And we spent lesser money sight seeing compared to the usual shopping trips i spend in new york.
More photos with Esther..but i cant wait to load all these up first!

Basking under the sun..we got our tickets to liberty..and passes into liberty!

Battery road from the ferry

We finally see liberty! she's 151'1" tall!!

Finally on e island.. heading to the tour inside Liberty! We had to go through so many security checks! One even has the the "air check"..whatever u call it. It works somehwat like the one we have at the airports but they use air to pump into us to check for weapons i guess. Girls who wear mini skirts, beware! haaa.. we saw some skirts up due to the airpump!

The old torch of Liberty

The face of liberty. Liberty's actually this color! But after 120 years, due to corrosion.. its this GREEN today!

The wind was so so so strong!! We made to keep on holding our hair and our flying skirts! LOL.

Manhatten!

Though we made it in to the liberty statue.. we only managed to get to the observation deck. No chance to go all the way up there! =(

The interior of the liberty.. no chance to go all the way up up up!

View from the top..

Good bye observation deck!
Off we went for our audio tours. In the tour, it helped to explain to us the history of the statue of liberty. It was a gift from the french to the americans after 100 years of independence. However it look several years for it to be there. They met up some obstacles along the way.. had to raise funds and such. Enjoyed the audio tour until it started raining! argh!

Our lunch!

Good bye island..

me on wall st i think..
wanted to go ellis island after the tour but we didnt managed to catch the last ferry out. Headed back to battery park..and we walked to Ground zero. I wanted to go there ever since my first trip to new york almost a year back. I finally went there to witness the site. Almost 5 years ago, it was hit and collasped on 11 sept.

The site..

What's left today..

The heros of sept 11

Time line..The details about what happened on sept 11.. Some of the policeman's photo was shot. It showed them helping people, getting people out of the building, away of the site but they went back in to help but died when the building collasped. I finally got to the site.. it still feels so sad. so many people died.. 50 mins after the buildings were hit, it collasped within 10 secs. The people didnt have the choice to choose if they want to live or die. Human are so vulnerable. sigh.

Very rewarding trip. =) looking forward to more of such trips in the future.
