I caught 200 pounds beauty yesterday and i fell in love with the movie!I am
an anti korean movie person. Always think its draggy and boring. I am not
interested in whatever Da Chang Jing or whoever rain or sunny is. But 200
pounds beauty was so funny and touching at the same time! It's about this
really fat girl who's a backup vocalist for a gorgeous but tone deaf singer.
She has been fat and ugly all her life and the guy whom she loves thought
nothing about her. So she made this decision one day to go for plastic
surgery. Then the show narrates what happened after her surgery and
stuffs. It makes me realise how lucky i am as a person. It's true that the
society is harsh to those who are not as rich, not as pretty, not as slim.
Its sad but true. Till date, i am still not sure if plastic surgery can
really change a person's life. In the movie, it says that there are 3 types
of girls. The first is the pretty ones which are like treasure to man. The
second is the average girls which is like present to man. The third is the
ugly one which is like (i cant remember the exact word) but it means
something unattractive and irritating(somewhere along the line). There's the
fourth too.. those who went for plastic surgery, they are "monsters"! Man
are fine about woman who go under the knife, as long as it's not their girl.
Is that really true? Does it really irks a man to find out that his girl is
a "monster"?Probably the day when i decide to go under the knife, i will
know. But for now, i am very satisfied with my features and my life. I dont
deny that i did contemplate to go under the knife.. But i am scared. Not
entirely of the side effects but more of the emotional and psychological
effects. It's just like having a real LV and a fake LV. Both looks nice, has
the LV logo, the lock, the zip, dust bag..everything! the fake one probably
even look better than the real LV because its design and colour is way
prettier. But somehow, it's still FAKE. When you carry the fakie out, people
stare and took an extra glance. Probably not because they think its fake,
probably because it looks so nice that its extra eye catching. But when
people do that, you start to panic and think, oh man.. did they find out
that its fake? How embarassing it is..blabla. Even if you walk with extra
confidence, you still cant do it the same way when you carry a real LV bag!
And if you're going to admit to everyone that its fake, you are going to
have to face alot of comments and criticisms. Manz.. why go through that
just for something fake? I dont know. Probably the day when i really feel
the "need" like hanna did, i will probably go ahead too. Who knows?
You've got the poison,
I've got the remedy.
