There's no place i'd rather be
I've walked the streets of Cairo and Bombay
I've seen the neon signs on ole Broadway
I've climbed the Eiffel Tower,
The Great Wall in one hour
Experienced sweet and sour but that's okay.
Seen Hollywood, the sunsets in LA
The London Bridge, Big Ben, the Thames, UK
I've crossed the River Kwai,
Yet still I don't know why
I think of you each night and every day.
There's no place I'd rather be
You'll always be a part of me
And even though I've roamed the world
It's still my home I long to see
This is where my family
And my friends grew up with me
So I'll cross the skies and sail the seas
Cos there's no place I'd rather be.
Grew up with so many NDP songs.. this is one of the few thats closest to my heart. It says exactly what i feel. I am such a home town girl. Having been traveling for close to three years(time flies!), nothing beats coming home, being in the safe & clean environment of Singapore.
I dont have to clutch my handbag tightly to me nor be home by sunset. I dont have to beat the winter cold. I dont have to deal with extremely slow service. I dont have to eat boring burger and salad everyday. Other places maybe fascinating and much more interesting but i am contented with this beautiful city that i belong. :)
I love national day. It stirs up the patriotic feeling . It reminds me of Primary school where all of us sat in the school hall to sing Ndp songs. hee.
